A mascot costume that fits well keeps the performer safe, comfortable, and expressive. One that fits badly turns every appearance into a struggle. Fortunately, getting sizing right is mostly about gathering four numbers before you order.

The four core measurements

  1. Height - the primary sizing input for most designs.
  2. Weight - helps the team evaluate overall fit.
  3. Chest / bust - important for larger or smaller than average wearers.
  4. Waist - completes the profile for tailored recommendations.

When several performers share the costume

Schools often rotate mascot duty across students or staff. When one costume will be worn by several people, size for the largest expected wearer and provide that person's measurements when requesting a recommendation.

Custom sizing

When standard sizes will not work, custom sizing may be available. Provide the same four measurements, and mention any details that affect fit - broad shoulders, height outside typical adult ranges, or mobility needs.
